Ideally, you'll have:
  • Proven experience as a Water Fitter within the civil infrastructure industry.
  • Experience installing and maintaining water reticulation networks, including water mains, services, valves and fittings.
  • Experience with PE, PVC and Ductile Iron (DI) pipeline installation, including electrofusion (EF) welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of safe excavation practices and working around existing underground services.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and maintaining tidy, professional worksites.
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
You'll be involved in a wide variety of civil infrastructure projects including:
  • Watermain renewals
  • Pressure pipelines
  • Valve installations and shutdowns
  • Wastewater and stormwater construction
  • Installation of PE, PVC and DI water mains, services, valves and fittings, including electrofusion (EF) welding, pipe laying, jointing, pressure testing and commissioning. 
  • Reading plans and setting out work
  • Working safely around existing underground services
You'll work closely with experienced supervisors, project managers and skilled crews delivering projects for local councils, Tiaki Wai and private clients.
